Do you remember the heartbreaking image of a sea turtle with a plastic straw stuck in its nose? As a gift for the Dragon Boat Festival, Wistron ITS gave all staff a set of stainless steel straws and a reusable cup sleeve in order to reduce plastic use. By reducing the use of plastic straws and plastic bags, we can contribute to protecting environment and marine ecosystem.
Every year, eight million tons of plastic waste is dumped into the ocean. In Blue Planet II, a mother whale held on to her baby and would not let it go, even though the calf was already dead. In the documentary, the narrator said, “Unless the flow of plastics and industrial pollution into the world’s oceans is reduced, marine life will be poisoned by them for many centuries to come.”
It is important to protect marine ecosystem. By giving all staff a set of 316 food-grade stainless steel straws and a reusable cup sleeve, Wistron ITS wants to invite everyone to reduce plastic use and protect our planet. Next time when everyone is enjoying their afternoon tea, we hope that you will remember to use this little gift, to protect both your health and our planet.
